1. Supreme Court weighs Trump bid to curb asylum claims at southern border

The Supreme Court heard arguments on whether the Trump administration should be allowed to turn away asylum-seekers along the southern border before they set foot in the United States.

Outside the Supreme Court on Tuesday, immigration advocates raised concerns about President Donald Trump bringing back a policy to turn away people at the U.S.-Mexico border fleeing political, racial or religious persecution.

2. Williamson County GOP agrees to go back to countywide voting for May runoff

The Williamson County Republican Party announced this past weekend it will go back to countywide voting for the May runoff election after a rule change for primary voting led to confusion on Election Day earlier this month.

Williamson County was one of two counties in Texas where Republicans opted against countywide voting during the primary election.

3. Texas Education Agency names new Fort Worth ISD superintendent

The Texas Education Agency has named Dr. Peter B. Licata the new superintendent of Fort Worth ISD and appointed a Board of Managers to lead the school district.

The TEA says the change in leadership comes to help Fort Worth ISD address the issues that led to intervention.
