Drivers urged to expect lane closures, traffic changes, and work zone delays as drainage project begins in Rockport.
ROCKPORT, Texas — Motorists in Rockport are advised to stay alert and prepare for traffic changes as construction begins at the intersection of Business 35 and Orleans Street this week.
According to the City of Rockport, a drainage contractor will begin setting up a TxDOT-approved Traffic Control Plan on Friday, March 27, in preparation for upcoming roadwork in the area.
Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, March 30, and will continue until the project is completed. Drivers should expect changing traffic patterns, lane shifts, and possible closures throughout the work zone.
City officials say the project is part of ongoing infrastructure improvements and is designed to enhance drainage and roadway conditions in the area.
Detour signage and work zone speed limits will be in place, with officials emphasizing the importance of slowing down and following posted traffic control instructions for safety.
The City of Rockport says it will continue to provide updates as the project progresses and as lane closures or traffic impacts change.
