Editor’s note: Featured pets may be adopted quickly, but there are always others ready for their forever home.

At the Humane Society of North Texas, adoption is about changing lives, one match at a time. Learn more about adoptions at HSNT’s Fort Worth and Keller locations, or at off-site adoption events held six days a week at HSNT.org.
PetSmart Charities National Adoption Week is in full swing, and across the metroplex, the Humane Society of North Texas is bringing adoptable pets directly into the community. Through March 29, this nationwide effort is focused on one simple idea: Adopt joy and bring home love.
Throughout the weekend, Humane Society of North Texas teams are set up at multiple locations, giving families the chance to meet pets who are ready to become part of something permanent. This weekend, adopters can visit events in the greater Fort Worth area at Montgomery Plaza, south Arlington, Lake Worth and Duncanville, with adoption hours running from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Among the many pets available are three standouts who each bring something different to the table.
Pringles, a 2-year-old French bulldog, is exactly what many people hope for in a companion. Sweet, easygoing and happiest curled up close, she is the definition of a lap dog. Pringles thrives on attention and would be a natural fit for someone looking for a steady, affectionate presence at home.
Penne, a 3-month-old tabby kitten, brings the opposite energy. She is playful, curious and always in motion. Penne turns everything into a game, whether it is chasing toys or exploring her surroundings. Her rambunctious spirit makes her a great match for a home ready to embrace kitten energy and all the fun that comes with it.
Gidget, a 1-year-old Australian shepherd, lands somewhere in between. Affectionate and eager to bond, she may be a little timid at first, but quickly settles in once she feels safe. Gidget enjoys being close to her people and has the potential to become a deeply loyal companion for someone willing to give her a little time and reassurance.
National Adoption Week highlights what the Humane Society of North Texas works toward every day. Each adoption creates space for another pet in need and strengthens a growing network of community support.
This weekend’s schedule includes:
10 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, March 27: Montgomery Plaza, south Arlington and DuncanvilleÂ
10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, March 28: Montgomery Plaza, south Arlington, Lake Worth and Duncanville
10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, March 29: Montgomery Plaza, south Arlington and Duncanville
The details: Where compassion meets actionÂ
To set adopters and their new best friend up for success, every Humane Society of North Texas adoption includes:

one month of complimentary pet insurance.Â
Adoption fees are based on a variety of factors, such as age, size, length of stay and public demand. Visit HSNT.org for more details and follow along on Facebook, Instagram, Threads and TikTok for stories about other friends looking for a furever home.
