LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The Lubbock Police Department says one person is now dead following a motorcycle crash on Thursday afternoon.
According to LPD, it responded to a crash just after 12:30 p.m. in the 4000 block of Marsha Sharp Freeway, near 19th Street. The crash involved a single motorcycle.
The rider was seriously injured in the wreck and was taken to UMC by ambulance. However, the rider was pronounced dead at the hospital.
LPD will release more details at a later time.
Traffic has been backed up for hours along the Marsha Sharp Freeway. Traffic heading northeast on the Freeway remains blocked from 34th Street to the Texas Tech Parkway. Find an alternate route this afternoon if you are planning to drive along the Marsha Sharp Freeway.
