Comedian Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, who has teased a move to San Antonio, made stand-up history on Saturday, March 21, performing in front of a record-breaking 70,000 fans at California’s Sofi Stadium. At the sold-out event, he delivered a set that was laughable at some moments and jolting at others.

Iglesias was joined by fellow entertainer Jo Joy. Their show’s ticket sales surpassed a Guinness World Record for “largest attendance for a comedian.”

At one point in the night, Iglesias told the crowd he was going to share a piece of information that was “probably going to take the air out of the room.” After the audience began cheering and clapping, he added that he was not “overhyping” the situation.

“Are you ready?” he said. “Here is the biggest chisme of the night. And all I need for you to know is this is not a joke, it is 100% real. I can’t believe I’m going to tell you, but here we go.”

After a long pause, Iglesias told those in attendance that he was “officially mentioned in the Jeffrey Epstein files.” Social media videos show that several people in the venue can be heard gasping.

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) released more than 3 million pages of information related to Epstein, a convicted sex offender, on Friday, January 30. It contains names, emails, photos, and some who had a connection to the figure, though parts of the documents contain redactions.

Iglesias, looking nervous, left audience members on an uncomfortable cliffhanger before saying that he had never met Epstein, been to his private island, or been on one of his planes. According to the official pages released by the DOJ, Iglesias is mentioned in emails that were sent in January 2014 between Epstein and an email address named “Karyna Shuliak.”

In the digital exchange, Epstein asks Shuliak to “get 6 tickets” for an 8 o’clock show on the 25th. There are typos in the message.

In response, Shuliak says the following: “I only see a 7:00pm show of Gabriel Iglesias on the 25th, and it is sold out. Is that what you were looking for?”

Epstein says, “yes. no late show?” Shuliak responds, “No, sorry. I called to double check: 7pm is the only show on the 25th and is sold out..”

Reflecting on the emails, Iglesias said on stage that at the time, Epstein had a home in West Palm Beach, Florida. In that same city, a comedy club called “The Improv” was operating, he said. He would perform there three to four times a year.

“That is it,” Iglesias said several times. ” ‘Cause I know you guys got nervous …”

He continued, “I just think it’s crazy that Jeffrey Epstein, one of the most diabolical human beings to ever walk the face of the Earth, had the ability to connect with politicians, with influencers, with celebrities; he put people in very compromising positions. He put people on planes. He put people on islands. He was involved with trafficking.”

Iglesias concluded that Espstein “was able to accomplish all these evil, crazy things, but at the end of the day,” he still couldn’t get tickets to see his show. The crowd can be heard erupting in loud applause.

A video of the speech, later published on TikTok, gathered over 200,000 views, with one user commenting that Iglesias had them “scared” at the beginning of the story. Iglesias’s management team declined a request for comment from MySA.
