The manufacturing powerhouse has outlined three separate alteration projects for the Samsung Austin Semiconductor facility, located at 12100 Samsung Blvd., Austin, TX 78754. Those three project filings, registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on Tuesday, March 24, amount to approximately $2.5 million in revitalization efforts, per project documents.

The first include a nearly $1.7 million investment in new manufacturing equipment elements, with the project scope amounting to more than 13,000 square feet. That work began in early March and is tentatively set to run through late July, based on preliminary timelines filed with TDLR.

The second project is an almost $161,000 renovation planned for the addition of new remote EV controllers and heater blankets beginning in early April ahead of a projected installation work completion date in late July. The final project registered this week is a $645,300 alteration that encompasses the installation of new gas cabinets within the semiconductor facility’s east bunker, per TDLR project filings. That work will run on a similar timeline, kickstarting in early April before an expected completion in late July.

The improvements come after Samsung Austin Semiconductor just celebrated its 30th anniversary in the Texas capital earlier this month. Its three-decade history in the Lone Star State was a first for the manufacturer in the nation, with Austin selected back in 1996 to house the company’s first manufacturing site within the United States.
