San Antonio’s third No Kings protest against the Trump administration is set for Saturday at Travis Park, organizers say, as part of coordinated demonstrations planned in cities and towns across Texas by grassroots advocacy groups.
San Antonio’s latest demonstration has been rallied by two main groups — 50501 SATX and TX-23 Indivisible, with sponsorships from dozens more organizations. In the past, No Kings protests in the Alamo City have drawn thousands of people into the streets to denounce Trump’s presidency, which event organizers deem as tyrannical and authoritarian.
Event organizers and protesters alike have continually called attention to Trump’s ongoing crackdown on immigration, which critics have condemned as cruel and inhumane. “When our families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the brink, silence is not an option,” the San Antonio event’s information page reads.
The message seems to reflect broader concerns cited by organizers statewide as similar protests unfold across Texas, with organizers also protesting Trump’s tariffs, federal layoffs and an escalating war in the Middle East. “We will defend ourselves and our communities against this administration’s unjust and cruel acts of violence,” the event description states.
The event will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. at Travis Park downtown. Stressing that theirs is a nonviolent movement, No Kings organizers encourage attendees to bring signs, and to refrain from bringing “weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted.”
Several additional protests are taking place in the Texas Hill Country area, including New Braunfels, San Marcos and more. For a full list of No Kings protests taking place across Texas, click here.
