HUNTSVILLE, Texas. – WKU Baseball (14-12; 3-4 CUSA) fell to Sam Houston (13-12; 3-4 CUSA) 1-0 Friday evening at Don Sanders Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bearkats recorded the first hit Friday evening with a single up the middle in the bottom of the fourth.
Sam Houston had runners on first and second with one out in the fifth but a groundball to shortstop Manny Alberto was flipped to Austin Haller who fired it over to Lane Arroyos at first for a 6-4-3 double play to end the threat in the fifth.
The leadoff man for WKU Friday, Hayden Robbins, broke the no-hitter with one out in the sixth inning.
The Bearkats grabbed the lead off a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the seventh, ultimately winning, 1-0.
NOTABLES
With the loss WKU falls to 14-12 (3-4 CUSA) on the year.
The Hilltoppers are now 5-2 all-time against the Bearkats and 2-2 in Huntsville.
Aaron Robertson got the start on Friday evening for the Hilltoppers.
Robertson finished with two strikeouts, three walks, and two hits in 5.0 innings of work on Friday.
Robertson’s two hits allowed are a season low, beating his previous low of three.
Out of the bullpen WKU used Mick Uebelhor who finished with one run (earned) on four hits with one walk and six strikeouts.
Uebelhor’s six strikeouts match a season high set against FIU on March 13.
Camden Ross caught two runners stealing on Friday night, matching both a season and career best.
Hayden Robbins finished 1-for-4 on Friday.
