A major crash involving an 18-wheeler is causing a backup during afternoon traffic on the Southeast Side.

The accident was reported at about 3 p.m. on the north lanes of Loop 410, near Southcross Boulevard, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

All of the lanes are shutdown and traffic is being diverted from the highway to the access road at Southcross. Traffic is backed up to the U.S. 281 interchange as of Friday afternoon.

The trailer of the 18-wheeler can be seen mangled and what looks like a Dodge pickup is upside down.

KENS 5 reports that there are no major injuries so far, according to San Antonio police. The Express-News has reached out to SAPD for more info.

It was not immediately known how long the road is expected to be closed as crews work to clear the roadway.
