Plano erupted for 11 hits and a dominant pitching performance in a 15-1, four-inning victory over East Aurora to headline Friday’s high school varsity baseball action, while several area teams split results across a busy slate.

Julian Gates, Jackson Gates and Braylon Schmidt each collected two hits and doubled for the Reapers, Beckett Schwartz also doubled, and Julian Gates added a triple while driving in four runs as Jackson Gates knocked in two; Quentin Santoria pitched all four innings, allowing one unearned run on three hits with one walk and 10 strikeouts.

West Aurora fell 4-1 to St. Charles East.

Aurora Central Catholic defeated Parkview Christian Academy 7-4 behind Brodie Curry’s two-hit performance that included a home run and three RBIs.

Marmion Academy was shut out 11-0 by Plainfield North, with Brendan Kavanaugh and Julius Pizanno recording the Cadets’ only hits.

Sandwich lost 14-3 to Watkins Memorial during its spring break trip to Tennessee despite four hits from Nick Michalek, while Jeffrey Ashley and Brady Behringer each added two hits, with Michalek and Behringer both tripling; Brody Cole drove in a run, and Arlo Budd and Cole each pitched three innings, both allowing seven runs on seven hits, with Budd surrendering four earned runs with one walk and four strikeouts and Cole allowing five earned runs with three walks and three strikeouts.

Yorkville Christian split games, losing 7-1 to Hixson despite three hits from Caleb Fulkerson, two hits from Austin Vugteveen and a double by Hayden Garrity, before defeating Chattanooga Central 15-6 as Isaac McCoy recorded two hits, an RBI and three runs scored while Vugteveen also scored three times.

Newark dropped a 9-8 decision to Greenfield/Northwestern as David Ulrich and Jacob Seyller each had a hit and scored a run, Ulrich, Shawn Seyller and Jimmy Kath each drove in a run, and Ulrich took the loss after pitching 5⅓ innings, allowing four earned runs on one hit with two walks and six strikeouts.

Hinckley-Big Rock rolled to a 29-7 win over Ashton-Franklin Center behind Colten Sargant’s three hits, including two doubles, and seven RBIs, while DJ Hansen drove in four runs, Skyler Janeski doubled and tripled with three walks and three RBIs, and Marshall Ledbetter stole three bases, was hit by a pitch four times and scored four runs in the victory.
