The Dallas Cowboys’ rebuild on defense continues.

Dallas agreed to terms on a one-year deal with defensive end Jonathan Bullard, the team announced Saturday.

The 32-year-old joins the Cowboys after one season with the New Orleans Saints where he tallied 26 tackles, including four for a loss across 15 games and six starts.

Listed at 6-3, 290 pounds, Bullard fits the mold of the bigger defensive end that new defensive coordinator Christian Parker is looking for as Dallas transitions to a base 3-4 defense.

The move also reunites Bullard with Cowboys defensive line coach Marcus Dixon who arrived in Dallas this offseason and coached Bullard in 2024 when both were with the Vikings. Bullard started all 17 games for Minnesota that season, racking up 41 tackles, including one sack and a career-high seven tackles for loss.

Bullard, a former third-round pick by the Chicago Bears out of Florida in 2016, is entering his 11th season in the NFL and joining his seventh team. In addition to the Bears, Vikings and Saints, he has played for the Cardinals, Seahawks and Falcons. He has 6.5 career sacks.

Bullard is the seventh external free agent to sign with the Cowboys on the defensive side of the ball this offseason. He is the third add on the defensive line, joining nose tackle Otito Ogbonnia and defensive end Tyrus Wheat.
