A party in the Dallas suburbs erupted into chaos last weekend when word about the function spread on social media, and about 700 teenagers showed up.

When police arrived at the short-term rental in Celina, just north of Dallas, the teenagers dispersed. Then, gunfire broke out. Nobody was injured, police said.

The Celina police chief said the situation is a cautionary tale for how social media can lead to parties getting out of hand.

“Scenes like these highlight the very real risks and dangers associated with large, unsupervised gatherings, especially when fueled through social media and potentially involving underage alcohol or substance abuse,” police chief John Cullison said in a statement.

When police entered the house, they found bloodstained sheets and towels, according to Dallas TV station Fox 4

Officers arrested a minor for driving under the influence and an adult on a warrant for aggravated assault they had in Dallas County.

The party took place at an Airbnb on the 800 block of Choate Parkway. The owner, Kishore Karlapudi, told the TV station that the granite countertops appeared to be broken because the teenagers were dancing on them. The group also moved all the living room furniture into the garage.

Karlapudi said the person renting the property told him only seven people would be staying there.
