LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – We’ve got a cool day in store for the South Plains today but we’ll warm quickly as we push into Sunday and early next week. Winds stay more manageable for the next few days coming up.
TODAY
A pleasant day is in store for the area today!
We’ll see a gorgeous day today followed by a return to the 80s over the coming days(Dylan Smith)
High temperatures will climb to the mid 60s making it warmer than yesterday and a whole lot less windy than Friday was as well.

TONIGHT
Temperatures remain mild as we see the mid 40s stick around for overnight lows. Winds will stay a light breeze of around 10 to 20 mph.
SUNDAY
A rapid warm up is heading our way today. High temperatures will spike into the mid 80s as more sunshine makes an appearance. Not record-breaking, just a pleasant, warm Spring afternoon!

NEXT WEEKS WEATHER PATTERN
We’ll continue to see mid to upper 80s persist into the first half of next week. We are eyeing a potential cold front by Wednesday that could bring in slightly cooler temperatures and a possible shot at some rain.
We’ll see a much improved forecast over the coming days after the not-so-pleasant weather we saw Friday to finish out the week.(Dylan Smith)
For now, moving into the next week it’s staying mostly warm and pleasant for the South Plains.
