TEMPLE, Texas (FOX 44) – Saturday (March 28) was a red-letter day for several local Rotary Clubs — as they observed and celebrated “Rotary Service Texas Day,” and the Rotary Club of Temple used the opportunity to build some beds.

About 50 volunteers converged on the club to build children’s beds for Sleep In Heavenly Peace, an organization that provides beds for kids who do not have beds.

“We have a group here today and our goal is to make about 40 beds today (March 28, 2026), and then we’ll pick another day where we will deliver those beds to the appropriate residents,” said Kim Langston, president of the Rotary Club Of Temple. “So it’s all about getting people together and just volunteering, doing what we can do for others, because that’s what we’re all about.”

The Rotary Cub of Temple was one of 30 in the Rotary District 5870 region taking part in Saturday’s Service Texas Day.
