EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso Zoo and Botanical Gardens is hosting summer zoo camps this year.
The City zoo bills this year’s “Beauty and Beasts”-themed camps as a place where curiosity comes to life through fun, hands-on adventures.
The camps are for children ages 6 to 10, and they can become junior zookeepers for the summer. Campers will get up close with animals, explore habitats from around the world, learn about conservation, and take part in interactive activities designed to inspire a love of wildlife.
Weekly camp sessions will be held 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday from June 1 through July 31. Each day offers a new experience, including behind-the-scenes opportunities, guided tours, interactive games, and memorable animal encounters.
“Zoo camps offer an opportunity for children to truly connect with nature through hands-on learning and engaging experiences,” El Paso Zoo and Botanical Gardens Interim Director Gary Lunsford said. “From exploring habitats to discovering wildlife and making new friends, every day is a new adventure.”
Each week-long session will focus on a different habitat, helping campers better understand the natural world and how everyday actions can make a difference in protecting it.
Families are encouraged to register early for a summer filled with roars, squawks, leaps, and splashes. The cost is $125 per participant for a weekly session, according to the zoo website.
