LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper was injured in a two-vehicle crash while pursuing a speeding vehicle Friday night.
The crash happened at approximately 11:17 p.m. at 19th Street and University Avenue in Lubbock.
The trooper was traveling southbound on University Avenue with emergency equipment activated while pursuing a speeding vehicle. As the trooper crossed the intersection, a GMC Acadia SUV traveling east on 19th Street entered the intersection and collided with the passenger side of the patrol unit.
The trooper was transported to University Medical Center with minor injuries and was treated and released.
The driver of the SUV and a 2-year-old child were also transported to UMC. The driver sustained minor injuries, and the child was uninjured.
The crash remains under investigation.
