Luxury is being injected into a North Side shopping center, as a popular spa prepares to pamper its patrons.

Hiatus Day Spa is prepping to open at the Village at Stone Oak shopping center, with a $1 million build-out scheduled to start in May, according to state regulatory filings.

The 4,741-square-foot spa has no opening date for the 22602 US-281 N. location, though the build-out is expected to be complete by the end of August.

The spa debuted at the Pearl in 2017, gaining popularity through traditional spa services like massages, manicures and waxing. Traction for the spa  grew as it evolved to offer medical cosmetic procedures, which booked up its calendars even more.

Now, the Hiatus Spa at The Cellars, located across Brewer’s Alley, has 13 treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy room, a relaxation room, a nail therapy room with zero gravity chairs and a med spa room.

“After the incredible success of our original spa in The Cellars building, we’ve been overwhelmed by the love and support from our amazing community,” the spa said on its website. “Thanks to your enthusiasm and patronage, we embarked on a new adventure with our second location in Pearl.”

The second location opened in spring 2024 at The Lab Building, between Rancho Diaz and King Ranch. The Stone Oak location will mark its third San Antonio location and first outside of the Pearl.

Patrons can join its H-Circle Membership program for $89 a month, offering a monthly service, discounts, special offers and discounted products.

Hiatus Day Spa was founded by Kristin Heaton-Peabody and Sheila Garrison in Dallas, but has since expanded to more than 10 locations throughout Texas. Most spots offer both traditional spa and medical spa treatment. It is unknown exactly what services  the Stone Oak location will offer.
