LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The Monterey Lady Plainsmen (22-5-1) are the Extra Innings Team of the Week after going (3-0) this week.
The Lady Plainsmen have won five games in a row led by a high-powered offense that has averaged 12 runs per game over that five-game stretch.
Their week started with a 16-3 win over the Coronado Lady Mustangs on Tuesday, then they followed that up with a 14-2 win over Plainview on Friday, before beating Caprock in their final game of the week on Saturday 6-2.
Up next for the Lady Plainsmen is a rivalry game against a team that they lost to earlier 14-13 in Lubbock High. That will be an important district game for Monterey as the two teams are near the top of the 5A Region I District 3 standings.
