The 48-team field for the 2026 FIFA World Cup is nearly finalized, meaning soccer fans in the Dallas-Fort Worth area can plan accordingly.

With a tournament-high nine matches, including a semifinal, all of North Texas should be impacted — not just Arlington’s AT&T Stadium (which will be referred to as Dallas Stadium by tournament organizers).

Here’s a quick rundown of the teams that will play in D-FW, and when.

There are five group stage matches in North Texas. The final team will be determined on Tuesday, March 31. Each team plays three group matches. The top two teams advance to the knockout stage. The eight highest-ranking third-place teams also advance.

Sunday, June 14, 3 p.m.: Netherlands vs. Japan (Group F, Match Day 1)

Wednesday, June 17, 3 p.m. England vs. Croatia (Group L, Match Day 1)

Monday, June 22, noon: Argentina vs. Austria (Group J, March Day 1)

Thursday, June 25, 6 p.m.: Japan vs. Sweden or Poland (Group F, Match Day 3)

Saturday, June 27, 9 p.m.: Jordan vs. Argentina (Group J, Match Day 3)

Training sites

Although North Texas proposed half a dozen sites for teams to host their base camps, only two teams will plant their flags in the D-FW area as their official training site: Tuesday’s winners between Poland and Sweden and Denmark and Czechia.

Teams that play matches in Arlington will, however, train before matches at sites in North Texas.
