A San Antonio high school is upping its safety measures after it was made aware of an online terroristic threat. Parents and guardians were notified of the precautions being taken via email on Monday, March 30.
An electronic letter shared with MySA shows that Antonian College Preparatory (ACP) High School notified community members at about 8:20 a.m. this morning. Per the statement, the Castle Hills Police Department told the archdiocesan Department of Catholic Schools that a “terroristic threat had been made on the TikTok video platform against an unnamed school in Castle Hills.”
In response, the school is adjusting its outdoor athletics activities, the email reads. A meeting with the faculty also took place regarding planning.
“Other schools in the area were also made aware by Castle Hills PD and have taken action as well,” the statement reads. “Any mention of violence on social media platforms is addressed seriously.”
Law enforcement is investigating “and is proactive in this situation with the schools in that vicinity,” per the email. The campus noted that “safety of students and staff is of paramount importance.”
Parents with additional questions or concerns are urged to contact Principal Gabriel Duarte, the letter states. MySA reached out to the Castle Hills Police Department and ACP for more information.
