1. Connecticut Sun reach deal to sell to Rockets owner, move team to Houston in 2027

The Connecticut Sun has reached an agreement to sell the team to Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta and will move to Houston in 2027.

The WNBA Board of Governors still needs to approve the sale and the move. The Sun is being sold for a record $300 million, according to a person familiar with the deal.

2. CPAC activists embrace Paxton as MAGA’s choice for Senate over Cornyn

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s was the unofficial guest of honor at the Conservative Political Action Conference, where hundreds of right-wing activists from around the country hailed him as Republicans’ clear choice for U.S. Senate.

He met with supporters behind closed doors, gave the keynote address at the Ronald Reagan dinner and held court during a private reception where people lined up for handshakes and photos. Audiences cheered for Paxton and booed any mention of Sen. John Cornyn, Paxton’s opponent in the May 26 runoff.

3. College students rally for deported Babson student’s return

Students and faculty from Babson, Wellesley and Olin colleges came together with immigration advocates, community members and legal representatives for an Education Over Deportation rally to support Any Lucía López-Belloza, a freshman at Babson College from Austin.

At the Sunday march and rally, the group demanded the safe and immediate return of López-Belloza, who was deported to Honduras in November after attempting to fly back to Texas for Thanksgiving to surprise her family.

Texas women chase NCAA title while drawing motivation from coach of only national champ 40 years ago

Rori Harmon doesn’t hear many speeches from Jody Conradt, the retired Texas women’s basketball coach who led the Longhorns to their only national championship 40 years ago. Conradt was around the program long before the latest effort by the Longhorns to add a banner to the one raised for the 34-0 team of 1985-86.

Top-seeded Texas will chase a second consecutive Final Four berth when it faces No. 2 seed Michigan in the Fort Worth Regional 3 final Monday night.
