Victor Wembanyama continued his stunning start to the 2025 NBA season with the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday (26 October).
The French basketball star inspired the Spurs to a 118-107 win with 31 points against the Brooklyn Nets in the Western Conference, where they sit top of the standings with a perfect 3-0 record to begin the new campaign.
Wembanyama, 21, becomes the first player in NBA history to score 100+ points and 15+ assists in his first three games of the season.
Add to that his 40+ rebounds, and the Frenchman is the only man to have surpassed all three figures in the opening three games of an NBA campaign.
Known as ‘Wemby’, the Paris 2024 silver medallist leads the league with the most blocks per game (6.0), while no center has scored more than his 33.3 points per game.
Wembanyama opened the new basketball season with 40 points against the Dallas Mavericks, featuring two-time Olympic champion Anthony Davis and NBA Draft overall first pick Cooper Flagg.
The Le Chesnay native followed that up with 29 points in an overtime win against the New Orleans Pelicans, making it a century of points this season with the Spurs’ third victory on the bounce against the Nets.
