The venue shared a “goodbye” Instagram post saying, “we’ll always be grateful for the time we shared here. We’ll miss this.” Tiger Lilly, located at 400 Colorado Street, just one block from Congress Avenue, is known for hosting locals and entertaining groups of people from out of town for private events.
The cocktail lounge, owned by Pursuit Concepts, an Austin-based hospitality group, first opened in November 2024. Before that, the space was Estelle’s, a bar owned by NoCo Hospitality, that shuttered suddenly in September 2023 only a few months after opening that May.
A year after Estelle’s closed, Tiger Lilly transformed the space for events like its basement speakeasy filled with luxurious greens, pinks and contemporary decor mixed with a vintage hotel-like feel. The three-story venue hosted holiday pop-ups like Frosty’s Christmas Bar with themed decor and cocktails as well as resident DJs like Saint Spicer and Alex Alfonso playing music for events at night.
Several Austinites reacted to Tiger Lilly’s closure in the venue’s comment section like Instagram user @mia_vassallo who wrote, “why can the businesses at this address stay open?!” Another user @sydgaw also claimed, “i’m supposed to have my wedding there in july lol?”
Other users like @alissasimino said, “Ughh. Yall are one of my favorites” and @lauravalerielpz added, i’ll miss you.”
