The cowboy and cowgirl core trend is as alive as ever, and not just at rodeos. Texas company Kendra Scott is playing a somewhat big role in that. And now they’re expanding their western wear brand presence at the most fitting of locations.
Kendra Scott’s “modern cowgirl” Yellow Rose collection has been a regular sight at the rodeo circuit across Texas. It launched in 2023 in Austin and recently branched out and opened standalone retail locations in Austin, Dallas, and Houston. There now appear to be plans to open at the historic stockyards district in Fort Worth, according to a filing at the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Inspired by ranch life in the Lone Star state, the Yellow Rose collection takes a contemporary approach to western wear, offering a selection of jewelry, apparel, home decor, and more. Whether the old-timer ranchers wear it remains to be seen. The historic Stockyard district has been the site of previous Yellow Rose pop-ups, and is a hub for all things western, so a retail spot there is a fitting development
The $1,444,000 project is set to be 6,594 square feet of retail space and will be located on the Stockyard grounds at 122 E. Exchange Avenue Barn A, Suite #570. According to the TDLR filing, the project is expected to be completed in October of this year. We reached out to Kendra Scott and they declined to comment.
The Historic Stockyards regularly hosts what they call “the world’s only twice-daily cattle drive,” and is a popular tourist destination with an array of events, re-enactments, shopping and dining venues. It traces back all the way back to 1849 as the “civilized” outpost for “cowboys driving cattle to market along the famous Chisholm Trail,” and remains a center for those looking to experience a bit of that past.
Scott moved to Austin in 1993 after attending Texas A&M University and opened her first business. She founded her namesake jewelry company in 2002, eventually expanding to more than 150 standalone stores in the U.S., including several in Texas. She is currently engaged to country singer Zac Brown.

With Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott, we’re interpreting those elements through a modern fashion lens, creative pieces that move effortlessly in all stages and moments in life.”
