SAN ANTONIO – The Texas Department of Emergency Management (TDEM) is conducting a Public Warning System Statewide Drill on Thursday, April 2, between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. CST.
You may receive a text message on your phone, see alerts on local TV or radio, or hear sirens. This is only a test to ensure systems are ready for real emergencies.
If you hear or see an alert on April 2, no action is needed.
This exercise tests the system and helps ensure the community can receive critical emergency alerts when they matter most.
Residents are encouraged to make a disaster plan and help identify improvements before a real emergency.
Regular testing is essential to delivering fast, accurate public warnings when lives are on the line.
In the event of a disaster or emergency, SA.gov alerts will provide official updates from the City of San Antonio.
