National Burrito Day is always celebrated on the first Thursday of April. And this year, it falls on Thursday, April 2.
Modern-day burritos started appearing on restaurant menus in California sometime in the 1930s, but the oldest historical mention of the Mexican dish was in 1895. In America, we stuff tortillas with all sorts of fixin’s– rice, beans, cheese, meat, salsas, veggies, the list goes on. But in Mexico, burritos are really just tortillas filled with meat, beans and cheese.

April 2 until 2 p.m.$5 breakfast burritos: eggs, refried pinto beans, crispy potatoes, chorizo, green chile queso and mixed cheese, all wrapped in a flour tortilla and served with roja salsa and tomatillo sauce.
