BTS fans are voicing frustration online about booking hotel rooms in El Paso for the pair of concerts happening in May.
The South Korean boy band is coming to the Sun Bowl for two nights, May 2-3, and tickets for the El Paso shows are sold out on Ticketmaster — and it appears that hotel rooms in the Sun City are also no longer available.
On Facebook, a fan-led ARMY group for the BTS El Paso concert posted that they can’t find a hotel in El Paso, and some have resorted to booking a room in nearby New Mexico or even in Ciudad Juárez. The post also noted that several major events were happening in El Paso that weekend, including Comic-Con and Michelada Fest.
El Paso Comic-Con is happening from May 1-3, while Michelada Fest is on May 3.
“Yeah, at this point, folks are going to have to look outside El Paso,” one fan commented on the Facebook page.

The El Paso Times searched through several online booking sites and found that most hotels were unavailable during the BTS concert dates as of March 31. A banner on booking.com said 97% of hotels were unavailable in El Paso on May 1-3, and the only available rooms on the site were located at Days Inn by Wyndham El Paso Airport East, which cost more than $600 per night.
On hotels.com, a few El Paso hotels appeared to have one or two rooms available, with rates ranging from $333 to more than $700 per night.
Airbnb also showed limited availability in El Paso, with a handful of homes offering overnight stays at about $500 per night.
Hotels in Sunland Park, New Mexico, also showed no rooms available, according to several travel websites.
The El Paso Times reached out to the city of El Paso for comment on hotel availability, and received the following statement from Jose Garcia, President and CEO of Destination El Paso:
“We are seeing exceptionally strong demand for the upcoming BTS concert weekend, with hotels across El Paso currently at or near full capacity. This level of occupancy reflects the significant draw of major events like this and the impact they have on our local economy. This kind of demand is a strong indicator of El Paso’s growing reputation as a destination for world-class entertainment, and we’re proud to welcome visitors experiencing our city during such a high-energy weekend.”
Las Cruces hotels
Fans may have to stay in nearby Las Cruces — rooms were still available at several hotels as of March 31. Las Cruces is about 40 miles from El Paso and prices start at just $57 a night, according to travel websites.
