DEL RIO, Texas – Thirty-one years after her death, Selena Quintanilla’s voice may be silent, but her impact remains as powerful as ever.

Fans are honoring her legacy with a new exhibit in Del Rio titled “Con Tanto Amor.” The showcase offers a rare, behind the scenes look at the star through the lens of fashion, which remains one of the most iconic elements of her public image.

The exhibit features never before seen photos from her “Selena, Etc.” fashion show and original designs that have been colorized for the first time.

The project began after Selena’s original fashion designer met with the event organizer.

“I think the fashion of Selena is something that is talked about, but it’s not at the forefront of her story,” said organizer Matthew Lebroke. “People are like, ‘Yeah, she had amazing costumes,’ but what’s the story behind them?”

Organizers say the display is more than nostalgia, it is intended to tell the story behind the style and ensure Selena’s legacy reaches new generations of fans.
