A young child was killed by a vehicle after riding a scooter into the street on Sunday, police say.
According to Fort Worth police, a five-year-old girl was riding her scooter around 3 p.m. on March 29. in the 1900 block of Portland Street.
The child rode the scooter down her driveway and into the street in front of another housing unit, officials say. A driver leaving the area struck the child, police said. She landed underneath a parked vehicle on the other side of the road, officials added.

The driver of the vehicle stopped, located the child, and began CPR until medical personnel arrived on scene, according to police.
The five-year-old was transported to the hospital, where she later died.
There has been no word yet if any charges will be filed against the driver of the vehicle, police say.
