HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — UPDATE: According to the sheriff’s office, the male suspect exited the residence and was safely taken into custody.
A large law enforcement response is underway in north Harris County as deputies respond to a barricaded man believed to be armed. Authorities are urging people in the area to stay aware as the situation unfolds.
According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, deputies and SWAT units are responding to an incident near the North Freeway and Airtex.
“To our community members near the North Freeway and Airtex. @HCSOSWAT and Deputies are responding to incident involving a barricaded male inside a residence, believed to be armed. There is a large police presence in the area.”
Officials have not released additional details about the suspect or what led up to the situation.
