If you are planning any last-minute shopping this Easter, you might want to double-check before heading out. Easter Sunday falls on April 5, 2026, and many major retailers across Lubbock and Texas will either be closed or operating on limited hours.

Of course, the best idea is to stock up on anything you might need before the holiday, but we’ve all been there- whether we ran out of hand soap for the family or need a key ingredient for the Easter meal.

Stores That Will Be OPEN on Easter

Call ahead before you head out, as individual locations may vary.

Drugstores like CVS and Walgreens will likely remain open.

Dollar General and Family Dollar stores will likely be open.

Wal-Mart, PetsMart

Restaurants

There are far too many restaurants in Lubbock (I could end this sentence here, but…) to list open/ closings, so be sure to call ahead to ask about hours.

I can tell you that some restaurants will be offering special Easter brunches like Claraboya, Ponto Gaucho, Stella’s, and Hillcrest Country Club.

Some restaurants will open limited hours, like Italian Garden. You likely want a reservation (if available) at any restaurant on Easter, so pick up that phone.
