Carroll has gone a perfect 10-0 against Corpus Christi Moody recently and they’ll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Tigers will face off against the Trojans at 5:30 p.m. Carroll is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.

If Carroll beats Corpus Christi Moody with ten runs on Thursday, it’s going to be the squad’s new lucky number: they’ve won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Tigers’ pitchers stepped up to hand King a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 14 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Ali Ann Deleon got the start for Carroll and what a start it was: she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Deleon has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn’t given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kaeleigh Mendez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she’s played. Zoe Caballero was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Carroll was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they’ve now posted a batting average of .314 or higher in 12 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Corpus Christi Moody made easy work of King on Friday and carried off a 13-1 victory.

Raelynn Gonzalez was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn’t allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Gonzalez was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

In other batting news, Lovieann Vasquez was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Aleena Olivo also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Carroll’s record is now 23-6-1. As for Corpus Christi Moody, their record now sits at 16-9-2.

Carroll got the ‘W’ in their previous meeting back in March against Corpus Christi Moody by a conclusive 15-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won’t have the home-field advantage this time around. We’ll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
