Folks can debate it all day long, but to millions, the Holy Trinity of Texas might as well be Buc-ee’sH-E-B, and Texas barbecue (for which you can pick your poison). Many Texas newcomers may take time to adjust to the holy three, but one fitness influencer got early exposure that saw him go full Texan.

Bodybuilder, combat veteran and PTSD advocate Lee Markham, better known as malibufitmaxx, has gained 1.9 million followers on TikTok and another 1.3 million on Instagram chronicling his journeys across the country as a fitness influencer. Despite being a self-proclaimed “Costco guy,” Markham recently announced he’s moving to Texas and posted a series of videos exploring the Lone Star State. Unsurprisingly, he visited the big three.

The first stop of his tour was courtesy the Fort Worth Stockyards, where more than 900,000 followers watched Markham get his very first cowboy hat before being kicked off a mechanical bull.

Markham followed that up with a visit to Terry Black’s Barbecue in Fort Worth, where he shared that he’s moving to Texas, before chowing down on chopped brisket, jalapeno cheddar sausage, smoked turkey, green beans, Mexican rice “for the carbs,” and a one-pound dino rib.

“They say things are bigger in Texas. They’re not lying,” Markham says in the video.

He gave Terry Black’s a 10/10 rating and enjoyed the dino rib so much that he wanted to throw his hat in the air in excitement. Markham wasn’t able to finish the meal, but called his leftovers a “post-workout meal.”

Over 1.1 million people watched Markham’s visit to Terry Black’s, but he followed that up with his first visit to Buc-ee’s. While it’s unclear which location he visited, Markham was starstruck by the gas station/hunting shop/barbecue chain, loving the Buc-ee’s brisket sandwich and the classic Beaver Nuggets.

“It’s so delicious, guys,” Markham said about the brisket sandwich. “The macros are crazy on this, but it’s so good.”

Lastly, Markham wrapped up his Texas tour with his “noobie trip” to H-E-B. While he compares every item he buys to the same products at Costco, he says he was “totally impressed” by the meal prep and sushi selection. Markham manages to escape H-E-B with only $68 worth of groceries, but he was floored by the discovery of True Texas BBQ.

“In Texas, every place has a barbecue. What’s up with that?” Markham asked. “So eventually I’m gonna have to try out the Texas barbecue here.”

H-E-B replied to the video saying, “We’ll have a tray of BBQ waiting for you on your next visit!” To which Markham followed up with, “Thanks you so much! Love your store so much [smiling emoji] very clean and the staff is friendly. Can’t wait to try that BBQ!!!”

In total, Markham’s four Texas videos have gained more than 3.3 million views as of Wednesday, April 1. It’s unclear yet where Markham is moving to in Texas, but we’re sure he’ll have an update on his adventures soon enough.
