LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The Texas Medical Board is reprimanding a Lubbock Ob-Gyn for actions during the delivery of a large infant that threatened the life of a mother. The baby died once delivered.
The board determined Dr. Kendra Bookout did not keep proper track of the baby’s heart rate. It also said she did not sufficiently document conversations with the mother about delivery options or prompt consideration of alternate delivery options.
Bookout must notify every hospital and clinic she practices with of the disciplinary action.
In the next year she must complete 12 hours of continuing medical education and pass a jurisprudence exam or be suspended from practice.
