SAN ANTONIO – 11 students at Vale Middle School were sent to the nurse on Wednesday after potentially drinking expired milk.
“Vale MS and NISD Child Nutrition staff are investigating an issue of expired milk being served at the campus today. The campus nurse has evaluated a total of eleven students today who reported feeling unwell or became ill. No other reports have been recorded this week,” said the district in a statement.
According to the students we spoke with, the milks were white and chocolate flavor. Both students described the milk as “disgusting and lumpy.”
The students also said the expiration date was March 17 and March 18.
No other NISD schools were impacted. Only a portion of the school’s milk supply was past the expiration date, not the entire inventory.
