LEON VALLEY, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety’s Leon Valley Mega Center has partially reopened for limited service as crews continue to repair significant flooding damage, officials announced Wednesday.

The driver license office is currently serving a restricted number of customers by appointment only. Because the department leases the facility, DPS officials said they are working with the property owner to restore the building to full operational capacity.

There is currently no timeline for when the repairs will be completed.

“We will provide updates as they become available,” the department said in a statement.

The Leon Valley Mega Center provides a full range of services, including driver license applications and renewals, road tests, identification card services, commercial driver license services, license and identification card replacements, and updates to customer information.

The facility was forced to close last month due to the flooding. Starting March 16, DPS began notifying affected customers to reschedule their appointments at alternative locations through the department’s website. Personnel have been assigned to provide additional support for those requiring assistance with the rescheduling process.

DPS officials encouraged customers to check for appointment availability at the Leon Valley location or other nearby offices online.
