A break between rainstorms is on deck Thursday in Dallas-Fort Worth.

The early hours of Thursday morning brought rain and thunder, but the storms should start tapering off in time for the morning commute. The National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office expects precipitation to end by 10 a.m., with full sun expected in the afternoon. This rain is not forecast to bring any significant cooling, with highs again in the 80s.

Cloud cover is expected to return by sunrise Friday, with maximum temperatures reaching the low 80s. Sprinkles could start after 1 p.m. Friday, but heavier rainfall isn’t expected until Saturday in the early morning. In total, this system should bring over 1.7 inches of water to D-FW, creating a flood risk for low-lying areas.

Precipitation is expected to end by 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon, with sunshine in time for Easter. Maximum temperatures should be in the low 70s.
