FORT WORTH, Texas (KXII) – Historical marker honoring Choctaw code talkers unveiled in Fort Worth

During World War I, the code talkers used the Choctaw language to create a code the enemy forces couldn’t understand during campaigns during the war.

The marker is at Veterans Memorial Park in Fort Worth as part of a partnership between the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, the Texas Historical Commission and the Fort Worth Parks and Recreation department.
