Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark fired back at Cody Campbell after the chairman of the Texas Tech Board of Regents publicly complained about the Red Raiders possibly playing a Friday night game against Houston next fall.Â
The spat started with a post on X from Campbell where he criticized Yormark, the conference and Fox Sports.
“Friday Night Lights are sacred in the Great State of Texas! It is absolutely absurd that the @Big12Conference and @FOXSports would consider scheduling @TexasTechFB and @UHCougarFB on a Friday night,” Campbell said in the post. “I know that @brettyormark is not a native Texan, but he’s been here long enough to know better!  Come on, man!”
Campbell took to social media again after Yormark’s response to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.Â
“Apparently Brett didn’t get the memo: EVERYTHING RUNS THROUGH LUBBOCK!!” Campbell said in a post on X. “Maybe we should bring the tortillas back??”
Texas Tech’s game against Houston is currently scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19 in Lubbock.
