EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Drivers near The Fountains at Farah are still dealing with lane closures and orange barrels on Hawkins Boulevard as construction at El Paso Water’s campus continues. That’s what’s driving viewers crazy this week.

Lane closures have been in place since May 2024, and traffic control measures remain in place as the project moves forward.

El Paso Water officials said, “Existing traffic control will remain in place throughout demolition and landscaping. The entire campus is expected to be complete in January 2027. —Additionally, EP Water will continue to minimize large deliveries to the building during business hours to reduce the number of trucks in and out of the property.”

El Paso Water’s new headquarters building is expected to be completed in June 2026. After that, the current building will be demolished, and the area will be transformed into landscaping designed with a dual flood control purpose.

Once the entire project is completed early next year, all traffic control and lane closures will be removed, reopening all northbound lanes of Hawkins Boulevard.

The Fountains at Farah previously addressed concerns about the nearby traffic in November, saying traffic on Hawkins does not affect The Fountains at Farah and is not related to the shopping center.
