A crash on Loop 1604 in San Antonio is causing traffic delays today, Thursday, April 2.

According to the traffic monitoring site SigAlert, the crash on Loop 1604 North at FM-171/Culebra Road was reported at 3:24 p.m. on Thursday. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has the collision listed as a high-severity “major accident,” and first responders appear to be on the scene. TxDOT cameras show traffic is backed up on Loop 1604, and the department’s website shows that the two lanes of the exit ramp are closed due to the incident.

According to SigAlert, traffic is backed up to Texas State Highway 151. Tow trucks appeared on the scene at 3:49 p.m. Those traveling on Loop 1604 North before Culebra Road should expect delays or seek alternate routes if possible.
