Prince Blakaj, the owner of Tastemaker Award-nominated restaurant Mare e Monte, has a new gig. He’s now the proprietor of Morea Italian Steakhouse in the old home of Lew’s Patio & Grill at 101 Club Dr. in Floresville. Although the website is a work in progress, it teases dishes like handmade pastas and cannoli to go with all the red meat.

Pat O’ Brien’s former River Walk spot at 121 Alamo Plaza has gone country. Cory Neal, who ran the former spot, has opened The Rowdy Spur, a new honky-tonk featuring live music and games like pool and poker. Oh, and there’s also a karaoke stage, should anyone want to belt out a few bars of “Fancy.”

Over Under, a new bar from Blue Box vets Michael McKinney and Kristofer Torres, is days away from opening in the Fiesta at Cevallos building in Southtown. The space will accommodate all sorts of moods, blending the feel of a neighborhood sports bar with a more elegant date-night haunt.

A former CrossFit gym at 2411 Broadway has a new flex. Overtime, from the team behind Backyard on Broadway, will open mid-April. As you might have guessed, the concept will have a sporty interior with some of the original building’s murals remaining intact. Although the two sibling bars will share the same kitchen, Overtime will have its own menu.

New food truck Doms New Orleans is now serving spaghetti and gumbo at the Point Park at 24188 Boerne Stage Rd. The reason for the cross-cultural menu? Owner Dominic Munasteri is the product of a first-generation Italian-American father and a mother from Metairie, Louisiana. Check out the weekly bread pudding special in intriguing flavors like bacon red cherry.
