A person was shot and killed in southeast Dallas on Sunday evening, police said.

Officers were called to Elam and North Jim Miller roads at about 6 p.m. for a reported shooting, Dallas police said in a news release Monday.

Investigators learned a person had been shot at the location by someone known to the victim, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital where they later died, according to police.
