The spring MavMarket will bring a student-run marketplace to the forefront from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Brazos Park.
Organized by the Entrepreneurship Club in collaboration with the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology Development, the event provides students the opportunity to showcase and sell their products and services.
Chaitanya Kumar, engineering management master’s student and Entrepreneurship Club president, said in an email that the platform has supported over 130 student vendors and helped generate a total revenue of around $170,000 over its multiple events.
Kumar said the marketplace will feature a high-energy atmosphere with live music and about 100 student vendors across multiple sectors.
“It is a great space to explore businesses support peers and network with other students,” he said.
Businesses span across seven sectors, including handmade products, food, creative services and other student-led ventures. Many first-time entrepreneurs are participating, Kumar said. Vendors were selected through an application, where their products and business details were reviewed.
He said the event provides students a direct experience in sales and marketing, allowing them to engage with customers, test their ideas, get feedback and build confidence to grow their brand.
“Students gain real feedback, improve their products and learn how to price market and sell,” Kumar said. “It also helps them build confidence and grow their brand within the campus community.”
