Friendswood City Council will consider whether to award the $1.6 million contract to Dickinson-based Branch Construction Group.
The project would be funded by FEMA and bond funds and would raise the station’s electrical parts two feet above Hurricane Harvey flood levels to protect the city’s sewer system, according to city documents.
The backstory
The city’s sanitary sewer system sustained severe damage during Hurricane Harvey, and currently, Station No. 1 is operating on bypass pumping because of outdated electrical infrastructure, according to city documents.
