SAN ANTONIO – A woman was killed early Friday in a drive-by shooting on the South Side, and police are still searching for those responsible.

Officers were called around 12:45 a.m. to a home near Aaron Place and Burton Avenue after reports of gunfire.

Police said a white Toyota Prius drove by the home and opened fire, sending multiple rounds into the house. Investigators say one of the bullets traveled through a wall and struck the woman in the head.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Five other people were inside the home at the time of the shooting but were not injured. Police said those individuals were taken in for questioning as witnesses.

The suspect vehicle fled the scene, and no arrests have been made.

The investigation is ongoing.
