H-E-B is no stranger to turning Texans’ heads year-round courtesy its cult-classic products and beloved seasonal or limited-time finds. The latest? A blackberry and key lime pie that’s captured the hearts, and wallets, of residents across the Lone Star State.
H-E-B’s seasonal Sweet Karoline blackberry and key lime pie, retailing for $19.98 in store, is back in stock after its first introduction last spring. The nine-inch cold pie features a tart key lime filling alongside a touch of honey over a graham cracker crust before it’s topped with Sweet Karoline blackberries, donut sugar, french sponge cake crumbles and whipping cream.
It’s a combination that’s generated plenty of fanfare online as Texans eagerly seek out the limited-time bakery item, including TikTok user @elijahnoelle, whose video review has generated nearly 78,000 views as of Friday, April 3, and garnered the attention of the San Antonio-based grocer itself.
“H-E-B, you know what you’re doing,” she says in the video, along with repeating “it’s so good” maybe 100 times.
“We look forward to it every year!” H-E-B commented on the video, with others pointing out personal size pies are also available for bite-sized treats. Hundreds of commenters revealed they weren’t alone in their obsession, with @MomminWithADHDAintEasy writing: “Shhhhhh…they’re going to sell out before I can make it to the store.”
