Calallen Independent School District Superintendent Emily Lorenz announced she will step down at the end of the school year after being named the lone finalist for superintendent of Medina Valley ISD.
Lorenz shared the update in a message to the Calallen community, saying she will leave her role to begin a new chapter following the conclusion of the school year.
“This community has meant so much to me,” Lorenz said. “It has been a privilege to serve, grow, and build relationships with such dedicated students, families, and colleagues.”
Lorenz said she is grateful for the support she received during her time leading the district and reflected on the work accomplished alongside students, staff and families.
“Together we have celebrated successes, navigated challenges, and created meaningful experiences that I will carry with me moving forward,” she said.
Lorenz did not specify her final day but said her departure will coincide with the end of the current school year.
It was not immediately clear when the Calallen ISD board will begin the search for her replacement.
