SAN ANTONIO – A suspect has been arrested after a pursuit involving state troopers ended in a major crash.

Around 2:15 p.m. on Friday, a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) State Trooper attempted to stop a black BMW sedan driving along Zarzamora Street.

According to the Texas DPS, the driver of that vehicle evaded troopers, crashing into another vehicle, but continuing to evade.

Law enforcement used spike strips to disable the BMW. The driver then lost control and collided with a curb at the intersection of NW 18th Street & Culebra St.

Troopers arrested the driver, a 34-year-old man, who will be charged with Fail to Stop and Render Aid, Fraud, and Evading w/ a Vehicle.

The occupants inside the struck vehicle were not injured. Authorities are still investigating.
