Tracking strong to severe storms this Easter weekend.

Easter weekend forecast:

SATURDAY: Your weather team is tracking a cold front with a threat of strong to severe storms as we head into the Easter holiday weekend. The threat is low (marginal) but real as we hop into our Easter holiday.

Saturday morning, expect some scattered showers with periods of dry time through the late morning into the afternoon.

Once the cold front approaches, rain chances become more widespread, and the risk for storms increases. Right now, we’ll watch the front move in from the north around 5-6 pm.

We’ll track the chance for stronger storms – headed into areas like Sugar Land and downtown Houston.

We’ll track isolated cells just south of I-10 as we get into the overnight hours and the front pushes off the coast.

There is a street flooding threat for all of southeast Texas Saturday and risk a low risk for strong to severe thunderstorms. The strongest storms could produce hail and strong winds.

Easter Sunday:

Right now for Easter morning: Not ruling out showers and isolated thunderstorms at daybreak, with light widespread rain possibly becoming more widespread into the afternoon and evening.

Sunday Morning: Tracking isolated cells just south of I-10.

Turning more into widespread rain as we get into Easter dinner time:

We’ll watch for the chance for a flash flood risk as we move into Sunday for the areas in yellow.

Whatever your plans are Sunday, make sure you dress for the cool. Temperatures range from the 50s in the morning to 60s in the afternoon with a strong north wind. And with the clouds it will feel colder than the actual temperature.
